Total Church System (TCS) Training

Integrating the Church Vitality Survey (CVS) with the Total Church Diagram (TCD).

Learn how the Holy Spirit can use the Church Vitality Survey (CVS) to inspire and encourage churches to obey the Lord Jesus Christ so He can lead them to greater accomplishments for the glory of God. Understand the simple ideas Jesus and the apostles used to launch the churches that “turned the world upside down”.

They used the human body to show how the church is a living interactive organizational body that must work together in order to grow by making the disciples Jesus commanded in the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18 -20). We call this interactive organizational body the Total Church System (TCS).  The two major subsystems of the TCS are:

The Church Vitality Survey (CVS)

The CVS enables us under the prompting of the Holy Spirit to assess the health and vitality of the church body just as a blood test helps doctors assess the health and vitality of the human body. We will discuss this below in Unit 1.

The Total Church Diagram (TCD)

The TCD enables us to relate each question on the Church Vitality Survey (CVS) to specific areas of ministry within the local church. We will discuss this below in Unit 2.

We introduce the CVS in “Unit 1 – Journey to Patmos to Learn About the Church Vitality Survey”. Next, “Unit 2 – The Standard Report” gives a brief overview of the reports that are available from the CVS. This will help you appreciate “Unit 3 – Return to Patmos…” to learn How the CVS and the TCD work together to give you a deeper understanding of the Total Church System (TCS). This is a printable version of the 45 questions on the Church Vitality Survey. Please make sure the Copyright by Melvin Schell shows on the printed forms. Please contact our office to arrange for the processing of the Surveys and the production of the Standard Report for a particular church or church group.

Appendix 2 - A Brief Introduction to The Standard Report From the Church Vitality Survey

The Standard Report from the Church Vitality Survey gives us the “ears” to “hear what the Spirit is saying” to us thru the church people. This helps His shepherds better lead, feed, guard and guide the flock of Jesus Christ. Refer to Appendix 3 for a complete explanation of the Standard Report.

Appendix 3 - An example of the complete Standard Report from the Church Vitality Survey.

This Standard Report is produced for each church or church group that completes the Church Vitality Survey. It consists of a Summary Page and five sections (explained above in Unit 2). Sample data has been used to prepare this example of a complete Standard Report from the Church Vitality Survey (CVS).
